This booked is banned from many schools and continues to be banned in them from the strong language, talk about sexuality and rape, and the continuous use of the discriminatory “n-word.” This is one reason schools ban the book, they do not want kids to be reading things such as this. This might encourage the kids to be this way. The book To Kill a Mockingbird is Harper lee’s most popular book. The theme of this book is the Jim Crow Laws, racism, and civil rights.

This book could be categorized under many themes. The movie(s) that have been created gave a 5/5, 8.3/10, and 91%. This clearly shows the way the plot is displayed is pretty good. This also shows that the characters are created well. The amount of people who have rated the book/ movie at such a high rating is very good for the book itself.

These rating spread the book and movie all throughout the world.  The laws of Jim Crow were state and local laws in the United States. These were active from somewhere in 1876. This provoked racial segregation in all public facilities. This was towards the African Americans. Some of the Jim Crow laws were about segregation in public schools, public transportation, public places and the separation of bathrooms and restaurants. There was also different drinking facilities for the races. This led to treatment of African Americans being bad compared to American whites.

The U.S. Military was also segregated. These laws were taken from black codes. The black codes were meant to limit the rights of the African Americans. School segregation supported by the State was ruled “unconstitutional” by the Supreme Court in 1954 from the Brown v. Board of Education. There was almost 5,000 Rosenwald schools that were in the Deep South in 1932.

This educated many African Americans. Many African Americans did not have education and many more wouldn’t have if they did not implement these schools. Without these schools it would be a lot harder to get a job in this time and it would not have been good for the community.

The major crisis of the Great Depression took place in 1929-1939. This was the worst economic collapse in U.S. history. The whole thing happened from the stock market crash in October 1929. This caused millions of investors to lose money, sometimes all of it.

Investment declined for the next few years. This led to a sharp drop in industrial production and employment. This happened because companies were going bankrupt and slowing down their production. In 1933 the Great Depression reached its lowest level. This caused around 15 million Americans to become jobless. Almost half of the national banks were either gone or going bankrupt as well.
