In Job’s speech he said ” Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choice in life.” What Job’s was saying was that being close to death makes you value your life more and makes you take any opportunities available. You never know when your day will come so if you don’t take the chances you will just end up regretting all the opportunities you didn’t take. I believe that you should always live your life the way you want to and make the most of it because you never know when your day will come. If you were to die tomorrow would you regret not doing half of the things you loved to do because you stopped doing them to be like others? I would regret it if I would of change who I was and the things I loved to do to be like others. I think we should all not give up doing what we love because things get in the way it of it can be people or personal problems.
None of that should stop anyone from following their own hearts and accepting new opportunities to get better. In the article ” The Essential Man” by Ebert in the eleventh paragraph he talked about how he developed a kind of rudimentary sign language. He had lost his voice and it was stopping him from doing what he loved to do. Ebert decided that he was going to find ways to communicate because he didn’t want that to get in the way of him doing things he used to do. Him losing his voice made him stronger and made him take new opportunities. In paragraph twelve of Ebert’s article he talks about what he went through having cancer. He had surgery to cut out his cancerous thyroid. His surgery went well he was back to doing the things he would always do.
After a year the cancer came back but this time in his jaw. A section of his lower jaw was removed and two weeks later of his surgery he was up and ready to leave and suddenly he started to bleed from his mouth. Blood was pouring down his face the nurse and doctor had just made it on time to save his life. This shows how sometimes you think you might be ready for something and then life will suddenly become turn and when you least expect it you might be hard again.
If you try not to give up once life gets hard you will be able to overcome anything. I have seen my cousin that I love and care about been close to giving up in her life because she became paralyzed do to a illness. How it all started was she became very sick and she decided to go see a doctor they did several lab tests on her and turned out she had spinal cancer that made her by time become paralysis. When she found out she had spinal cancer the first thing that came to her mind was that she was going to die. The doctor told her she could recover her ability to walk again if she took therapy. At first she didn’t want to do anything, but she thought about it then she decided that she was not going to give up.
At home she would do some exercises and massage her legs so it can help her increase the chances to walk again. For almost a year she was paralyzed but she never gave up trying her best. The doctor started to see that she was improving and recovering her ability to walk little by little. After a few months went by she finally was able to recover her full ability to walk again. This shows how there is always hope for everyone if you don’t give up. In life times will get hard and you might face some obstacles you think you not be able to overcome but you just need to have faith in yourself. If you try your best to not give up you will make it through anything. Thinking of failure you will not achieve anything you should just take chances.
By following your heart you will be more successful at complete anything you want. So just live your life to the fullest and make the most of it because you never know when your time will come.
