Have you ever wondered how Michael Jordan’s life was like? Well, I will explain what it was like and how he overcame challenges. I will also explain what his childhood and adulthood was like. Michael Jeffrey Jordan was the third son of James and Delores Jordan, and was born on February 17th, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. But, he later moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, at a young age. Michael has four siblings, two older brothers, an older sister and a younger sister. Michael Jordan got his first award at Trask Middle School for basketball and football in June 1977.

Even though he was good at sports, Michael wasn’t totally focused on academics during middle school. But, when he started attending Emsley A. Laney High School he started focusing more on academics. He ended up excelling in academics, with a B+ in most classes, and in three sports, football, baseball, and basketball. He was cut from the varsity team in the fall of 1978. He was 5 feet and 9 inches at the time, and was replaced 6 foot 8 sophomore named Leroy Smith. MJ, would grow 5 inches before the next season.

He was also the first high school student to average a triple-double in high school history. He led the team to the State Championship. But on the baseball field he was almost just as good. In 1980 he was playing for the Laney High School varsity baseball team, Jordan pitched for a perfect 45 scoreless innings. People were beginning to learn about his athletically gifted Jordan was. Here are some of the awards he won in his childhood.1975 “Mr Baseball” (Dixie Youth Baseball Association), 1977 Outstanding Athlete (Trask Middle School) and 1981 McDonald’s All-American HS MVP.

After Jordan graduated from high school, he enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981. He led UNC to the Division 1 championship in 1982, with Jordan scoring the final basket to defeat Georgetown. In, 1983 and 1984 he was singled out as the NCAA college player of the year. In 1985, Jordan finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Geography. But while having a good thing in life he also had a bad thing that happened.

Jordan had a big downfall for his 1986-1987 NBA season, he had a bad injury. But even though he was out for a whole season came back and was the first player since Wilt Chamberlin to score more than 3,000 points in a single season.
