I always assumed that change occurred when you moved to a new city or when you lose someone close to you. Change doesn’t have to occur over a single dramatic event and it did. Hurricane Katrina came and changed my life in ways I didn’t think about. Change occurs in many forms and is carried out in different ways. However, just recently, I have come to the realization that moving to a new city was the best things that happen to us. Hurricane Katrina impacted our life when she destroyed everything we owned. We didn’t expect to move to another state nor be in another city. What we once called home is no longer home but a far- away place where our deep and most sacred memories are.
I’ve been there basically all my life until we had to relocate and make Houston our home. When a person has lived a great part of their life in a particular city, it is a challenge to come to a different country. Starting a new life, in a new place, and new beginnings were the best effect. I’m better in Houston than we were in New Orleans. I’ve experienced a whole lot since we’ve been here. Better schools, jobs, friendlier, and less crime.Making friends can be difficult in other ways as well. Sometimes people from different places in the world lead different lifestyles.
When we moved it’s been very impossible to keep the sense of closeness that was there. A person experiences all of these things when they migrate. It is a paradigm to start all over when our live all ready exist elsewhere. A person experiences all of these things when they migrate. When a person has lived a great part of their life in a certain place it is a challenge to come to a different city.In a small town there is a sense of community amongst the neighbors. Memories were washed away. In the mist of it all, were very grateful to have a great change.
I’m very happy my family relocated and doing much better. I am going to school, have a great family, kids love it and we thankful. You can’t ignore change, and you have to allow for that change and compensate for it, and sometime you overcompensate for that change in your life.
My life change on 8-26-2010 when Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, leaving many dead and emotional.
