Education Past and PresentBecoming a vital part of individual’s growth, education system has evolved significantly. However, the ultimate purpose of education, that is for the development of pupils and teenagers in the thinking and behavior, has never been changed. On one hand, the willingness to learn plays an important role. Leonardo da Vinci once said “Study without desire spoils the memory, and it retains nothing that it takes in” (“Goodreads”).

On the other hand, the importance of the instruction from the teacher is inevitable. Consequently, the past, the present and the future of didactic methods, somehow, have numerous correlation, but, still developing because of society’s requirements. This essay will illustrate the development from the past to the present of education. The past, even the most recent past, can be an elusive quarry, difficult to capture in words or any kind of materials. In fact, it, eventually, cannot reflect all our preceding generation’s experiences, skills and knowledge in antiquities. For instance, our ancestors, the preliterate cavemen from the ancient times, tried to carve on cave walls some techniques in order to guide their children avoid wooly mammoth attacks, still, could not describe whole activities.

Nonetheless, it was still the first time they taught their next generation. Because images could not indicate all meaning, after the Medieval Period, humankind, for the first time, transferred teaching’s image into word by the time of writing explosion. Then, in a development which would happen again and again throughout history, word became well-known creating high-quality of life. School was on a rapid growth to accommodate the requirements of society.

Although, didactic programs were not adapted to them because the education system that time was still incomprehensive in theory instead of practicality, individuals would comprehend various knowledge, hence, understood things happening around them.In reality, man, respectively, had a right to be educated to become elite government officials in Eastern countries or distinguished military leaders in Western countries meanwhile majority of woman everywhere were being taught how to handle housework or needlework. Consequently, the instability of both genders, in turn, led to numerous controversies of human rights. Hopefully, it was increased. For example, over recent decades there has certainly been significant progress in girl’s education. Between 1970 and 1992, combined primary and secondary enrolment for girls in developing countries rose from 38 percent to 68 percent (“girl’s education”).

Curriculum, at present, has evolved to an exceedingly considerable alteration. Having others subjects instead of uninspiring fields and invading a variety of outdoor activities are some good example for this result. This is because many educators of the past have directly contributed to the current state of the field creating new majors. Consequently, educational studies have also moved with the times and take in both psychological and sociological aspects. Rather than seeking a closer understanding of education itself, they are more likely to be in search of materials to throw light on social mobility, or the progress of the industrial revolution, or whatever is the prevailing interest for specialists in the different periods (Simon).Not until the Technological revolution, education determines the high-tech, such as computers, Wi-Fi, projector, etc., in their program.

Therefore, facilities are increased dramatically bringing hospitable and comfortable studying environment. Although it costs an arm and a leg to develop those systems, the positive impacts of facility improvement on teachers and students are translated into reality survey, the rewards of such investments far outstrip the cost of the investments. It is, essentially, affected on student’s achievement, attendance, discipline, completion rate, teacher turnover rate and their relation to school facilities.

Despite these monumental changes, much of the methodology has remained the same from the past up to now(“Education”). In reality, school still takes a vital road of education system. Additionally, government would pay more attention on education. For instance, government in Viet Nam takes nearly 70% fee for students to encourage them learning. Curriculum also provides opportunities for individuals to develop a sense of responsibility, stewardship, andself-esteem through its solutions-oriented approach.

It empowers them to make choices that align with their values and take action as confident, capablecitizens. (“Comparing”)To conclude, at any rate, so far as the history of education is concerned, it is no longer possible to maintain the curriculum between traditional and modern modes. This was never easy, given that the distinction varies and in relation to all the agencies. We cannot deny how important of education in our life.

Still, the problem with the present generations is that the advantages of technology have created their complacency and laziness, somehow, goes the opposite way of education’s main purpose. Nelson Mandela once said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” (“good reads”). So, instead of being lazy, why don’t you pull yourself together and achieve your dream.
