Due to my interest in
healthcare, I chose Biomedical Engineering as my major in college and
maintained a cumulative score of 67% throughout my Bachelor’s Program. Establishing
collaborations with the faculty and peers helped me considerably in refining my
disposition for reasoning, logic, and scientific curiosity, which further
reaffirmed my pursuit of the medical field. With additional training, I envision
myself in acquiring a Ph.D. and being a part of a passionate and innovative
research and development team that works towards catering to the requirements as
well as tackling any challenges of the brave new world.

Ever since electronics
and medicine forged an alliance, the healthcare industry has accelerated in
performing tremendous accomplishments over the years. Inventions such as bionic
arms, prosthetic eyes and CT scanners have greatly influenced my motivation
towards this field of study. Ever since I discovered my passion in biomedical
engineering, I have wanted to extend my skills towards helping physically
challenged or differently abled people by creating assistance devices for them.
It is for this reason that my final project in the last year of college was
based on developing a device that would aid colorblind individuals in
recognizing color.

persistence. Over the years, I have consistently contributed in various
leadership roles whether it was as a chief coordinator for Annual College Fest,
an organizer for a National Level Technical Symposium called Promethean, or as an

in these positions made me appreciate the value of communication, teamwork,
planning, organizing, implementing, decision-making, and problem solving.

With the knowledge
obtained through my undergraduate studies, I feel that I have taken my initial

satisfy my intellectual curiosity and to lay the groundwork for my career in
this exhilarating field. I am enthusiastic about learning advanced skills,
concepts and gain in-depth knowledge that will provide me with the opportunity
to explore the depths and marvels of engineering. University of Ottawa has
always been at the pinnacle of innovation and does phenomenal quality of
research and therefore is my first choice of University where I would like to pursue
my Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering.

I am fully prepared to undertake
new opportunities and exciting challenges ahead as I feel that I have a firm
