Do you think police in the United States are too violent and are using excessive force? If you don’t then hear this.
According to an article police killed more than 900 people in 2017.Police are using excessive force and they should be held accountable.A Lot of police have gotten away with misconduct behavior.
Police are putting themselves and others people in danger. Last year more than 900 civilians were killed by police last year. That is 24 more than last year. One of them was a 72-year-old lady named Ms. Knowlton. Ms.
Knowlton lived in Punta Gorda FL and was accidentally shot while doing a shot/don’t shoot role-play practice. Most people understand that the job of a police officer is dangers from time to time. Almost every day, we see news stories about an police somewhere who is hurt or killed. We know there are bad people out there who are trying to hurt other people and in the process of trying to save bystanders police can be the ones who get harmed. However, if police could not come in an aggressive way they wouldn’t get hurt. So this means police are hurting himself and other people by having guns Police can lose their job for using too much force while trying to detain a person. An ex-police officer had to give up his job because he lied in a police report. The victim quotes “‘Honestly I was glad the officer got fired so he won’t be able to do this to anyone else.
I’m just happy to get him off the streets,’ Hubbard told reporters at a news conference on Tuesday.””There are, of course, officers who are fired for misdeed but officers who choses that they can overuse their power should not be given a career as a police officer. Yet all over the U.
S., police are given there jobs back, often worried to protect police labor than the public’s safety. Cops who are fired by their own bosses are given there jobs back. Their partners get that police are not getting permanently fired.”Since 2006, the nation’s largest police departments have fired at least 1,881 officers for misconduct that betrayed the public’s trust, from unjustified shooting. But The Washington Post has found that departments have been forced to rehire more than 450 officers after they were fired.
If the police did not have guns they would not have unlawfully kill a person. However back then the police would not know what punishments they would get or if they would get away with what they did. They would be more cautious of what they did. Now their first instinct for the police to a 911 call is that someone should die today because of this call.
America is one of the top place people are killed by police, and police are targeting African American people. The proof is An article from The Post noted in a new study, ” African Americans are two times as likely as caction to be killed by officers.”This is a really shocking fact.In England and Wales, 55 people were shot by police in 24 years and in America, 59 people are killed in 24 days in 2015 not years but days. In fact, the number is just growing.
An article from www.theguardian.com came out saying that “In Germany, 15 people from all race were killed by police in 2 years but in the U.S 19 unarmed black men were killed by police in five months.”Last month, a judge freed ex officer Jeronimo Yanez of manslaughter in the shooting death of 32-year-old Philando Castile.
Protesters in Minnesota, shut down an Interstate. With signs that said “Black Lives Matter” marched down a highway in the night time. This has gotten out of control that citizens are protesting about the amount of violence police have made through these decades.America is a very intelligent country and has no excuse for letting an innocent human get killed by police. Police are using excessive force and they should be held accountable. This is important for their safety and other bystander safety because they could get hurt.
This is also important because police could lose their jobs by accidentally hurting an innocent person. The final reason police should stop using excessive force is to improve America’s reputation. those are the reasons I think police should not use excessive force.
