¨An estimated 7.8 percent of Americans will experience PTSD at some point in their lives, with women (10.4%) twice as likely as men (5%) to develop PTSD. About 3.6 percent of U.S. adults aged 18 to 54 (5.2 million people) have PTSD during the course of a given year.¨ Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental health problem when a person experiences a terrifying event.In order for a person to recovery from  PTSD they either have an option of going to a psychotherapy,equine therapy, and cognitive processing therapy.    Post Traumatic Stress Disorder has been around since 1980, diagnosis had filled an important space in psychiatric theory and practice.Some of the way someone can be diagnosed with PTSD are sexual assault,accidents,disasters and other traumatic events.The symptoms of PTSD are re-experiencing the trauma through nightmares,avoiding places,and having trouble sleeping. It is a disruptive and invasive mental disorder where it can often lead to suicidal ideation due to feeling of guilt,inability to cope,or feeling hopelessness. PTSD is not a disease, people recover from this disorder by going to therapy, which takes time.To recover from PTSD the U.S Veterans affair stated that “Effective treatments for PTSD include different types of psychotherapy also known as therapy talk or medication..There are many types of treatments depending how the patient feels comfortable.  Paramedics are one of the public safety care works to be known to be diagnosed with PTSD,the Houston Chronicle has said that “Almost 20 percent of firefighters and paramedics had PTSD, compared with the general population’s rate of 3.5 percent, the report found.” Paramedics go through PTSD because there job is to treat the people who are in the situation.They see terrifying things everyday and everynight.Most paramedics tend not to get they correct type of help, they avoid it and try to be strong about it.Others get the help immediately,
